Comcast Hires Singh From Cisco To Head Long-Range Planning

Comcast named Inder Singh, who previously headed Cisco Systems' long-range planning activities, as senior vice president of finance and strategic planning.

At Comcast, Singh is responsible for forecasting, strategy, business trends and long-range plan preparation, as well as business intelligence and financial support for all product groups. He reports to chief financial officer Dave Scott.

"Inder's extensive knowledge and more than 20 years of financial planning experience will be instrumental in helping to identify new growth opportunities that are focused on our core businesses," Scott said in a prepared statement.

Most recently Singh was Cisco's vice president of corporate portfolio management and long-range planning and a member of the CEO's Operating Committee, the company's Video Board, and the Cisco Investment Review Board. Prior to Cisco, he was senior vice president of data networking and wireline equipment at Lehman Brothers, and head of technology research group at Prudential Securities. He also held positions at AT&T and American Express.

Singh holds an MBA in finance from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and bachelor and master of science degrees in engineering from Columbia University.
