Comcast Corp. has skated to an on-demand deal with NHL Network.

Under the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, the nation's largest operator and foremost proponent of on-demand programming, will have access to a host of the NHL Network's coverage, including condensed games only hours after their completion, player profiles, historical vignettes, daily and weekly content wraps, draft coverage and network series like NHL On The Fly. Some of the content will be available in high-definition.

Accessible by Comcast digital-cable subscribers, NHL Network On Demand can be found on Channel 1 in Sports & Fitness under the NHL tab.
"We are pleased that this partnership between Comcast and the NHL Network enables us to bring high quality hockey programming to our customers On Demand," said Matt Strauss, Comcast senior vice president of new media, in a statement. "In addition to being able to watch a full slate of hockey coverage when it's convenient for them, our customers can now enjoy unique content like condensed NHL games just hours after they air, with the ability to fast forward, rewind and pause the action."
Noted NHL senior vice president of distribution Jody Shapiro: "As the NHL Network continues to grow with new exciting content, we continue to look at new and interesting ways to make it available to our fans so they don't miss a minute of the action. By partnering with Comcast to offer NHL Network On Demand, we are putting the power into the hands of our fans to determine what great NHL Network content they want to watch, when they want to watch it."
