Comcast Corp. and Nielsen Media Research announced Thursday that the MSO's
Jacksonville, Fla., system has signed a three-year pact for the researcher's
set-meter local-ratings service.
Nielsen will deliver next-day household-ratings data, with demographic data
to come from separate diary samples during sweeps periods.
That system has long been subscribing to ADcom Information Services Inc.'s
local cable-ratings reports in Jacksonville, dating back to when it was under
"This new contract is due in part to the investments we have been making to
our local cable service over the past few years, and we are pleased that Comcast
has chosen to use those services to address its ad-sales business needs,"
Nielsen senior vice president of sales and marketing for local cable services
Jeff Sohinki said in a prepared statement.
