Comcast reached an agreement with Liberty Property Trust to lease an additional 151,646 square feet at Comcast Center.
The MSO will now lease a total of 1,094,212 sq. ft. in the 1.25 million-sq.-ft. office and retail development at 17th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Philadelphia.
Comcast’s lease for 48 floors runs 15-and-one-half years, and Liberty Property said an additional seven tenants bring current leasing of the tower to 91%.
Construction on Comcast Center began in January 2005, and the building remains on target for initial occupancy on the lower floors this fall.
“Philadelphia is our headquarters, and we are pleased to be adding jobs and increasing our presence in the city," Comcast executive vice president David L. Cohen said in a prepared statement. "We remain incredibly excited by the development of the Comcast Center, which will help to transform and invigorate the city's commercial-office-building market.”
