Comcast Corp. is ready for some high-definition football.

The MSO said Tuesday that it will provide an extensive slate of National
Football League action in HD, including ABC’s Monday Night Football.

The MNF telecasts will be exclusive to cable, and not available to
direct-broadcast satellite.

Comcast’s HDTV football schedule will also include ABC postseason games and
18 games from ABC’s sister cable network, ESPN.

Subscribers must have HDTV sets and HD-enabled set-top boxes, which can be
provided by the company.

Comcast became one of the first cable companies to offer HDTV when it
launched on systems in the Philadelphia market in November 2001. The MSO now
offers HDTV to 11.5 million customers in 16 states and the District of
Columbia.
