Comcast Promotes Melissa Maxfield

Maxfield, who joined the cable TV operator in July 2003 as senior director of federal government affairs, will oversee the company’s lobbying efforts focused on Congress. She’s based in Washington D.C.

Before joining Comcast, Maxfield held several senior political positions for the Senate and the House PAC, where she was responsible for political outreach. Earlier, she worked with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as political liaison, and held several senior fundraising positions.

“The leadership Melissa has exhibited for Comcast’s Capitol Hill efforts has been tremendous and a key element in the success of our government affairs operation,” Kerry Knott, Comcast vice president of government affairs, said in Monday’s announcement.
