Comcast Reorganizes in Atlanta

Comcast announced a realignment of its metropolitan Atlanta region following its acquisition of more than 77,600 subscribers from former Adelphia Communications systems.

The MSO is dividing its Atlanta region into four systems, rather than three.

• Perimeter North includes the former Adelphia properties in Bartow, Barrow, Cherokee, Forsyth and Hall counties, as well as northwest Georgia properties in Floyd and Gordon counties. McKnight Brown, integration manager for the Atlanta region, was named general manager.

• The counties of Fayette, Clayton, Spalding, Rockdale, Walton, Troup and Jasper make up the new Perimeter South System, andKenny Faust will be its GM.

• The North system will continue to serve customers in Cobb and North Fulton counties, and it will expand its geographic area to include properties in Paulding and Douglas counties, as well as Tallapoosa, Mt. Zion, Villa Rica and Whitesburg.Vice president and GMGreg Capranica will continue to lead the North System.

• And the Metro System remains as it was, serving the city of Atlanta and south Fulton, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties under the leadership of VP and GM Trevor Yant.
