Comcast Rolls Out VOD in Denver

Comcast Corp. launched video-on-demand to 680,000 homes in Denver and neighboring Aurora, Colo., Tuesday, with the full complement of 1,800 hours of programming, including Comcast’s free-on-demand product suite, hit movies and subscription-VOD from Home Box Office, Showtime Networks Inc. and Starz Encore Group LLC.

The company expects to launch the rest of the area's systems by June 30 and reach up to its Fort Collins, Colo., systems by the end of the year, said Scott Binder, senior vice president of Comcast's Colorado market.

SeaChange International Inc. is the server vendor in the market.
