Comcast’s recent acquisition of systems from Adelphia Communications and Susquehanna Communications is driving distribution for its CN8 regional news channel.
CN8 said Thursday that it picked up an additional 2 million households throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania through Comcast’s deals with Adelphia and Susquehanna. It now counts 9 million subscribers.
The network said it is also building a new Capitol Hill studio which it will use to shoot “Comcast Newsmakers” segments and other interviews in Washington.
CN8 launched in 1996 with just 400,000 subscribers.
