Comcast Says ‘Shalom’ in D.C. Area

Comcast will launch Shalom TV to more than 1 million households in southern Maryland, northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., next week.

The MSO previously launched the subscription-video-on-demand network in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware. Shalom TV said the upcoming launch will double its carriage footprint.

Comcast will provide digital-cable subscribers in the new Shalom TV markets with free access to the SVOD service for a two-week preview starting May 3, after which monthly subscriptions will be available at a special introductory rate of $5.99.
