Comcast Corp. said Wednesday that it has boosted its high-speed-data rates in Southern California.

The MSO said its two residential tiers are now clocked at 8 megabits per second upstream/768 kilobits per second downstream and 6 mbps/384 kbps, at no additional charge to subscribers.

Comcast added that this marks the third speed increase for its high-speed-data service in the region since 2003.
