Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia set a network ratings mark with its coverage of Tuesday night's ballgame.
The Philadelphia Phillies' 4-1 extra-innings win over the Chicago Cubs on July 21, averaged a 10.6 rating and 315,000 households in the Philadelphia DMA, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
That performance was the best in the regional sports network's 12-year history with the team, surpassing the 10.5 ratings for the Sept. 27, 2007 game between the Phillies and the Atlanta Braves. Additionally, the Phillies Postgame Live notched a 6.6 ratings and 196,000 households, its best numbers for the season to date.
The game, in which the defending champions ran their winning streak to 10, peaked with a 15.9 rating and 472,000 households at 10 p.m. and was the most-watched program in the City of Brotherly Love that date.
Thus far in the 2009 season, the Phillies have averaged a 6.3 rating, up 21% increase over the same time period last year.
