Comcast Spotlight hired Bill Janus as sales director for its Digital Publishing Platform, a new product that converts newspaper ads into slideshow-style video sequences that can run within Comcast’s video-on-demand platform.

DPP lets viewers browse for products typically seen in the newspaper classifieds section.

Janus, formerly classified director at The Baltimore Sun, will oversee all advertising efforts for Comcast’s ad-sales unit’s DPP product within Greater Philadelphia and the entire Eastern division.
