Comcast Touts Hometown VOD Usage

Comcast Corp. said its video-on-demand service totaled more than 184 million views in its hometown market, Philadelphia.

The MSO said more than 115 million of the views were free-on-demand content.

More than 85% of its digital-cable subscribers in Philadelphia accessed VOD in the past 90 days, Comcast added, with users averaging 21 views per month.

Comcast said its most popular categories and genres in 2005 included Dating On Demand, Karaoke On Demand, Music Choice, children’s shows, free movies and its “Get Local” service.
