Comcast Cable Communications Inc. president Steve Burke has added the title of chief operating officer of Comcast Corp., the MSO said Tuesday.
“Steve has done a fantastic job leading the tremendously successful integration of Comcast and AT&T Broadband over the past 18 months," Comcast chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts said in a prepared statement.
“Steve is one of the outstanding leaders of the cable industry and has effectively been performing the functions of COO of Comcast for some time,” Roberts added.
The company also announced that Dave Watson was named executive vice president, operations, overseeing its five field-division presidents: high-speed Internet, telephone, ad-sales unit Comcast Spotlight, sales and marketing.
And Mike Tallent will be executive VP, finance and administration, overseeing cable finance and accounting, administration, information technology, programming administration, engineering operations, customer service and Comcast SportsNet.
As far as the MSO’s programming-investments division, E! Entertainment Television and Style will report directly to Burke, while The Golf Channel, Outdoor Life Network, G4techTV and new content-business development (including oversight of TV One) will continue reporting to division head Amy L. Banse.
