Comcast's thePlatform Adds 24 Partners For Online Video

ThePlatform, Comcast's Internet-video management subsidiary, has added 24 companies to its partner program, including Google's AdSense for Video advertising network.

The new partners bring thePlatform's program to more than 80 companies in categories including advertising campaign management systems; asset management; content protection; community creation; content delivery; content syndication and discovery; mobile; reporting and analytics; and transcoding.

Existing partners include Akamai Technologies, Adobe Systems, Microsoft, Move Networks, Harmonic's Rhozet and Widevine Technologies. A list of thePlatform's partners is available here.

"In an increasingly robust online video environment, media companies want the flexibility to integrate and test new technologies that best suit their business needs without worrying about compatibility issues," Marty Roberts, thePlatform's vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

ThePlatform manages online video for Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Cablevision Systems, as well as programmers such as Starz Entertainment, CBS College Sports, CNBC, BBC and PBS. The company is currently involved in the back-end management of Comcast's On Demand Online trial.
