Comedy Central to Award The Commies

Comedy Central has hopped on the awards-show bandwagon.

The network and Bob Bain Productions announced Monday that they will produce
Comedy Central Presents The Commies, to air Sunday, Dec. 7 at 9
p.m.

The Commies will be taped in Los Angeles Saturday, Nov. 22, at Sony
Studios, and will include more than 15 categories culminating with the award for
"The Funniest Person of the Year."

A host has not been named yet.

Other awards will include the "Funniest Unintentionally Funny Film of the
Year Award" and the "Oh, I Thought You Were Dead Award." The latter will be
given to the person in comedy whom most people thought was already
dead.
