Comedy Central Brings ‘Just Friends’ To Small Screen

Comedy Central Monday announced it will broadcast the network television premiere of ‘Just Friends,’ the 2005 comedy film starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris and Amy Smart, on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m. ET.

“Just Friends” is the hilarious tale of Chris Brander (Reynolds), who had been “an incessantly teased, dorky male cheerleader who is now a rising Los Angeles-based music executive with a house in the hills, girls galore and hot list of clients.” But he can’t get over his high school crush, Jamie Palamino (Smart), who preferred the two remain “just friends” rather than a romantic pair throughout high school.

However, with a “squealing pop-star wannabe (Faris) on his arm as he returns home to suburban New Jersey, Brander is determined to make his long-time love more than just a friend.

Comedy Central will also re-air the movie on Monday, June 23 at 4:30 p.m.

The all-comedy network is currently available in more than 95 million U.S. homes.
