Comedy Central Climbs Aboard ‘Pineapple Express’

Comedy Central Monday announced that the latest installment of its Reel Comedy series visits the set of Pineapple Express, a “buddy comedy” starring Seth Rogan and James Franco.

The half-hour special will air Monday, August 4 at midnight ET, shortly ahead of the film’s theatrical release on Friday August 8. In the film a “stoner and his dealer are forced to go on the run from the police after the pothead witnesses a cop commit a murder,” studio officials said.

Comedian Paul F. Tompkins will host the special, taking viewers on the movie’s set to chat with stars Rogen (Knocked Up) and Franco (Freaks and Geeks) to talk about reinventing the buddy comedy genre.

Tompkins will chat with the film's other stars, Gary Cole, Craig Robinson and Danny McBride, as well as the film's producer, Judd Apatow.

Encore presentations will air Tuesday, August 5 at noon ET, Wednesday, August 6 at 1:30 p.m. ET, Thursday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. ET and Friday, August 8 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
