Comedy Central Makes Important Decision About Demetri

Comedy Central is going to allow Demetri Martin to be important again.

The MTV Networks service has renewed sketch comedy Important Things with Demetri Martin for a second campaign, which is scheduled to premiere in the first quarter of 2010.
Produced by Jon Stewart's Busboy Productions, Important Things with Demetri Martin launched Feb. 11 to some 2.8 million viewers, making it the network's most-watched premiere since Chappelle's Show in 2003, according to network officials.
The series went on to average 2.3 million watchers and was the No. 1 series in its time slot among men 18 to 24 and men 18 to 34.

"The uniquely creative Demetri Martin brought a great new perspective to the network, striking a chord with our viewers and becoming an immediate sensation, especially among our core young men and Gen Y," said by Lauren Corrao, president, original programming and development, Comedy Central, in a statement. "His talent is undeniable and we are looking forward to more important things from Demetri in the upcoming season."
