Comedy Central Wednesday announced it has renewed Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil and the second season will premiere Wednesday, July 30.
The show’s initial season averaged 1.9 million viewers each week and ranked as the top program among men between 18 and 24 and 18 and 34 for its timeslot, the network said.
“We are thrilled to renew ‘Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil’ for a second season and have it return to our schedule so quickly with new episodes this summer,” Lauren Corrao, president of original programming and development, said in a statement. “The pop-culture series struck a cord with our audience from the first episode and we know that Lewis and his fellow comedians have many more evil topics to deliberate over.”
Lewis added: “I am conflicted. I am thrilled it’s been picked up but it means I have to go back to work,” said Lewis Black.
