Comedy Laughs at 1Q Ratings

The first quarter of 2005 was Comedy Central's most-watched and highest-rated quarter ever in total day and primetime among viewers two-plus, 18-49 and 18-34, the network said Tuesday.

In addition, Comedy said, March was its most-watched and highest-rated month ever in the same demographic groups.

The network said its first-quarter ratings for viewers 18-49 were up 16% in total day and 12% in primetime compared with the year-ago period, and for March, those gains were 16% and 11%, respectively.

Comedy added that The Daily Show with Jon Stewart had its best quarter ever among adults 18-49 and 18-34.
