Comedy Central has partnered with Denis Leary and New York-based production
company Apostle to produce a number of animated on-air interstitials
The interstitials, which premiered on-air Thursday, were gleaned from
Apostle-produced animated show House Arrest -- created by Eric Brown, Tom
Sellitti and Jim Serpico -- a pilot that could become a network series.
The half-hour House Arrest stars Chico and Beanie as two unmotivated,
underachievers in their mid-20s.
Their main function in life -- while adhering to Chico's mandatory
house-arrest sentence -- is to ride the couch and watch animated interstitials
of such comedians as Dane Cook, Greg Fitzsimmons, Janeane Garofalo, Leary, Jay
Mohr, Patrice O'Neal and Jeffrey Ross.
