Comedy Central said Monday that it has green-lit production on The Sarah Silverman Programme (working title).
The network described the series as a half-hour narrative, and it has ordered six episodes, set to debut this summer.
“The Sarah Silverman Programme will star Silverman who plays a character (aptly named Sarah Silverman) whose absurd daily life will be told through an array of scripted comedic scenes and songs,” Comedy said in a prepared statement.
“Sarah is a tremendous talent, and we look forward to bringing her unique outlook and titillating point of view to our viewers through this incredible series," executive vice president of original programming and development Lauren Corrao said in a prepared statement.
“If you read a magazine or newspaper at the end of last year, you know that Sarah is the hottest comedic talent out there right now, and we're thrilled to be a part of her next chapter,” she added.
