Comedy Set to Roast Flavor Flav

Comedy Central will send up reality meal ticket Flavor Flav with a roast of the Public Enemy alum.

Comedian Katt Williams, as roast master, will host the festivities, which will be taped on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Los Angeles July 22. The show -- featuring roasters Carrot Top, Greg Giraldo, Ice-T, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Lampanelli, Bridgett Neilsen, Patton Oswalt, Snoop Dogg and Sommore, among others -- will debut on Comedy Aug. 12 at 10 p.m.

Born William J. Drayton, Flavor Flav, credited as rap music’s original “Hype Man,” is currently celebrating his 20th year in the business on tour with Public Enemy front man and partner Chuck D. On VH1, Flav left a mark with viewers on The Surreal Life, Strange Love and its sequel, Flavor of Love, which, in turn has spawned spinoffs I Love New York and Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School, starring Monique.

Sponsored by Anheuser Busch, Amp'd and Taco Bell, The Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav will be executive-produced by Tenth Planet Productions’ Joel Gallen, who served in the same capacity and directed the network’s roasts of William Shatner and Pamela Anderson. Elizabeth Porter will serve as the executive in charge for Comedy.
