On Command Ups Hotel-Room Fare

Hotel-room interactive-entertainment provider On Command Video announced that it will increase capacity with NetDriven, a new music application provided by Instant Media Network.

The upgraded platform will increase hotel-room listening options from 300-600 titles to more than 10,000 CDs and 120,000 music tracks, the company said. Music options -- including CDs, videos and streaming radio -- may be customized by individual hotel properties.

“On Command is pleased to have the largest music selection available via the television in hotel rooms,” senior vice president of programming and marketing Tad Walden said in a prepared statement. “Millions of hotel guests have access to thousands of music artists simply by using the TV remote control.”

On Command and its distribution network serve about 800,000 hotel rooms in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Spain, including properties of Fairmont, Four Seasons, Hilton Hotels, Hyatt and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
