The Adelphia Communications Corp. mess continues to negatively impact
vendors, as CommScope Inc. announced revised second-quarter financial
estimates.

The company said it expects overall revenue to land between $150 million and
$160 million in the second quarter of 2002, down from its estimate of $160
million.

CommScope said Adelphia represented about 11 percent of its total sales and
16 percent of accounts receivable. The vendor added that total Adelphia
receivables, as of May 31, were $22.5 million.

CommScope said it expects margins in the second quarter to land between 19
percent and 21 percent, compared with the first quarter's 22 percent. The
company blamed lower-than-expected sales and pricing pressure on certain
products.
