Concurrent Computer Corp. showed sequential gains in revenue and profits in quarterly results that still trailed year-ago figures.
The company reported a net loss of $1.4 million on revenue of $20 million in its fiscal second quarter ending Dec. 31. That compares to a net loss of $5 million on revenue of $17.3 million in its first quarter. But the figures were still below the year-ago quarter’s results of $1.2 million in profits on revenue of $22.6 million.
Video-on-demand-division revenue in the current quarter hit $10.5 million, a drop from last year's $13 million but better than the previous quarter's $8.5 million.
The company said it shipped 194 servers and 45,000 streams in the quarter, picking up business in seven new systems. CEO Gary Trimm said Concurrent still expects growth in the United States, as well as international markets.
Trimm also announced that Warren Neuberger, president of the integrated-services division, has been named chief operating officer of Concurrent. And Gary Burst, vice president of North American sales, added additional duties as VP of worldwide sales.
