Concurrent Computer, a video-on-demand technology and media data vendor, announced that James Brickmeier has been appointed senior vice president of strategic marketing.

Brickmeier, who has been with Concurrent since February 2000, most recently was vice president and general manager of the company's Video Solutions cable and telco product line. He also has held a number of roles in sales engineering, program management, product line management and general management.

In his new role, Brickmeier will be focused on developing Concurrent's long-term video and media data intelligence strategy, establishing and managing business partner relationships and global marketing, the company said.

"Jim Brickmeier has a proven track-record of leadership in the company and extensive knowledge of the video industry," Concurrent president and CEO Dan Mondor said in a statement. "Under Jim's leadership we have aligned responsibilities for defining and planning the future direction of our Unified CDN, eFactor, classic VOD and Media Data Intelligence solutions as well as worldwide promotion of our video brand in the market."

Prior to joining Concurrent, Brickmeier was a senior consultant with Manhattan Associates, a supplier of supply-chain management software.
