The Connecticut Gaming Policy Board Thursday scratched a proposal to simulcast horse racing over a cable public-access channel, AP reported.

Autotote Enterprises Inc. -- a licensed pari-mutuel operator that operates 12 off-track-betting parlors in the state -- would have allowed viewers to bet over the phone using OTB accounts.

The CGPB action came one month after a Division of Special Revenue hearing officer recommended that Autotote not be allowed to simulcast race events.
