Turner Sports Inc. has promoted John Cooper to vice president and associate general counsel.
Cooper had been assistant general counsel at the Turner Broadcasting System Inc. unit.
Based in Atlanta, Cooper will continue to lead Turner Sports’ legal team, overseeing legal issues relating to the acquisition and production of sports programming for the Turner networks, transactions with sports talent and the parent company’s ownership of professional-sports teams (Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves, the National Basketball Association’s Atlanta Hawks and the National Hockey League’s Atlanta Thrashers) and operation of sports venues.
