Cooper, Griffin To Ring In CNN's New Year

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will co-host CNN’s New Year’s Eve celebration from Times Square in New York City on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET.

New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will air in high-definition and simulcast on CNNI with CNN anchors and correspondents providing reports from celebrations across the country and around the world, network officials said.

Anderson Cooper 360 co-host Erica Hill will join Cooper in Times Square and CNN correspondent Gary Tuchman will report live from Central Park for the annual “Midnight Run.” Correspondent Sean Callebs will report from New Orleans with John Zarella and Brooke Anderson chipping in coverage from Key West, Fla. and Las Vegas, respectively.

The program will feature musical performances by Li’l Wayne from Atlanta, Lynyrd Skynyrd from Pikeville, Ky., My Morning Jacket from N.Y., Coolio from Las Vegas, 3 Doors Down from Duluth, Ga., and Hinder from Dayton, Ohio.

Throughout the day and into the evening, CNN will solicit viewers to “Show Us Your Party” using iReport contributions from its global audience, by posting and broadcasting video, images and other submissions about celebrations around the world.
