Costas To Call On NBC Sports Network With Town Hall Meeting, Interview Shows


Bob Costas will join NBC Sports Network's talent roster in 2012, hosting a series of town meetings and a monthly interview show on the national cable service.
The 22-time Emmy winner will lead a quartet of town hall meetings under the Costas Tonight: Live from banner, kicking off in front of Super Bowl XLVI from Indianapolis. He will also host Costas Tonight, starting next spring on NBC Sports Network, which is officially being rebranded from Versus on Jan. 2.
The first in a series of town hall meetings, Costas Tonight: Live from the Super Bowl will air live in front of a studio gathering at the Indiana Repertory Theater on Feb. 2, 2012 and to a national audience on NBC Sports Network, three days before NBC hosts the NFL Championship game in what figures to be the largest U.S. telecast of next year. The show will feature some of the league's top stars and newsmakers, with a focus on a state of the NFL, a review of the 2011 season and a preview of the big game. Future dates and topics for Costas Tonight: Live from will be announced later.
For its part, Costas Tonight, debuting on Thursdays nights next spring on NBC Sports Network, will place the journalist in conversations with leading newsmakers and celebrities from both the sports and entertainment realms. The program aspires to build on his legacy as a top interviewer from Later with Bob Costas and Costas Coast-to-Coast, as well as his acclaimed HBO shows, On the Record and Costas Now.
