Sportscaster Bob Costas will keep his cable destination where it is -- Home
Box Office --exclusively through 2005.

The Emmy Award-winning NBC Sports announcer/anchorman -- who entered cable
with the launch of HBO's weekly On the Record with BobCostas
sports series last spring -- cemented a three-year deal with the premium network
last week.

Costas will keep doing 12 On the Record episodes per year, in addition
to co-hosting the network's long-running Inside the NFL weekly football
show starting this fall. He will also host up to four pay-per-view boxing
specials per year and be available for special HBO Sports projects as
needed.

His current HBO contract runs through the end of 2002.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by HBO, but reports published
before Costas and HBO Sports executives held a press conference on the matter
suggested that he would make around $2 million per year.

Meanwhile, Costas is exploring his broadcast-network options amid the
expiration of his NBC contract July 1.
