Court TV to Launch Legal News Service

Court TV said Thursday that it will launch Court TV Legal News Service July 12.

The service "will offer the network's legal expertise to news departments of broadcast stations and cable news channels," the network said in a prepared statement.

It will be provided on a subscription basis, either via satellite or fiber.

Legal News Service will draw upon Court TV’s existing on-air and off-air resources, as well as its own staff of full-time reporters, producers and technicians.

"This is an exciting new venture for Court TV," said vice president of news Jim Lyons, who will act as editorial chief of Legal News Service. "We look forward to working with news directors to maximize its utility in their individual communities."
