Six girls transitioning from foster care in the San Diego area received a timely shopping spree as part of a local component of the ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas marketing campaign, with the local initiative in partnership with Cox Communications Inc.

The residents of a transitional living program called Mary's House in Escondido were selected by Cox as the beneficiaries of the channel's "VIP See Santa and Shop" spree. The operator's Cox Kids Foundation supports transitional housing efforts throughout the county. Some of the residents of the facility have been separated from loved ones for every Christmas of their lives.

The selected youth got a shopping spree at the Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, including a $150 AMEX gift card for each girl, a $25 lunch gift card and a visit with Santa.
