Cox Adding Internet Parental Control

Cox Communications will make it easier for parents to monitor their children’s online activity.

The MSO said it will offer a new parental-control functionality that will provide parents with daily Web-surfing reports logging domains or Web sites children have visited or attempted to access while in the household and flagging sites parents have deemed inappropriate by using customizable filter settings.

Cox said the new feature will be available this summer.

“Children are very technologically savvy and can make it hard for parents to retrace where they've been online," Cox High Speed Internet vice president of marketing and management Steve Gorman said in a prepared statement. "But the new Web-history feature will be one more way parents can stay on top of the Web sites accessed by their children.”
