Cox Communications Inc.'s hotel-entertainment subsidiary is planning to check
in with digital interactive communications at 18 hotels in Nevada, New Jersey,
Mississippi and Indiana under a deal struck with hotel operator Park Place
Henderson, Nev.-based Cox Business Services Hospitality Network will provide
in-room video-on-demand, programming channels, interactive guest services,
Internet via the TV set and high-speed Internet links to 27,000 hotel rooms in
Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe and Laughlin, Nev.; Tunica and Biloxi, Miss.; Bridgeport,
Ind.; and Atlantic City, N.J.
That includes the mainstay Caesars, Hilton, Bally's and Grand Casino hotel
While it has not released the details of the pact, the Cox subsidiary will
supply $30 million in equipment, including digital televisions, to Park
Cox Business Services Hospitality Network already provides service to 110,000
hotel rooms nationwide.
