Employees of auto insurer California State Automobile Association will be doing less commuting themselves, as the company contracted with Cox Business Services in Phoenix to connect 400 employees to work from home.
Cox and CSAA signed a two-year connection agreement, which will allow the agents to work from homes in Arizona beginning in January. The deal will earn an estimated $25,000 per month for the Cox unit.
The insurance company, a subsidiary of the American Automobile Association, is quadrupling the number of its Arizona teleworkers by January 2008. By that date, 1,800 agents will be working from their homes.
