Cox Business Services is plugging into Com21 Inc. to supply modems for its
hotel-room high-speed Internet service.

Cox landed the deal with Park Place Entertainment Corp. in December to
provide cable-modem service to more than 110,000 hotel rooms in 18 hotels
nationwide, including Las Vegas mainstays Caesars Palace, Las Vegas Hilton,
Bally's, Flamingo and Paris, as well as chain hotels in Atlantic City.

Cox will install Com21's 'DOXport 1110' cable modems, which are Data Over
Cable Service Interface Specification 1.0-certified and upgradable to DOCSIS
1.1. They also feature universal-serial-bus and 10/100baseT Ethernet ports that
can support up to 15 PCs.

'Com21 modems have given us excellent performance and reliability in our Cox
Las Vegas region,' said Mary Alice Nielson, vice president of Cox's Hospitality
Network Inc. unit, in a release.

'With both business and vacation travelers accessing the Internet from their
hotel rooms, the equipment that enables their online connection with our network
must be dependable,' she added. 'It is an ideal fit to use Com21 modems in this
type of deployment.'
