Cox Communications Inc. donated $200,000 to Capital Area United Way to aid victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Chief operating officer Pat Esser and Cox Baton Rouge vice president and general manager Jacqui Vines made the presentation to CAUW CEO Ken Hinrichs and chairman Jay Campbell.
“In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, verifying and assuring the welfare of our family of Cox employees in south Louisiana while quickly restoring services to our customers were our top priorities,” Esser said in a prepared statement. “With services completely restored in inhabitable areas in our market, our attention now turns toward helping our communities rebuild bigger and better than they were before.”
