Cox, Offer Online Support

Santa Barbara, Calif.-Cox Communications Inc. and last week said they will provide instant, real-time technical support for Cox@Home customers that use "DesktopStreaming" technology.

Through the Cox Web site, customers can get live online help by typing in a question and clicking "yes" when prompted for permission to automatically download the desktop-sharing application.

Cox customers can give their technical-service representative access to their mouse, keyboard and computer screen, allowing the representative to remotely assist with their computer problems. Customers can have a Cox representative fix PCs directly or walk them through the problem.

"Cox OnLine Technical Support" is being tested in San Diego for 90 days.
