Cox Eyes a Safer Internet

Cox Communications Inc. Monday announced findings from a survey it conducted in partnership with the Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The survey of parents with children aged 13-17 was conducted to determine how much parents know about their kids’ use of the Internet and the tools they can use to monitor and protect their household from online threats.

Cox said full results from the survey are available online (www.cox.com/takecharge/about_news.asp).

Also, as part of the MSO’s “Take Charge! Smart Choices for Your Cox Digital Home” program, it will beam spokesman John Walsh of America’s Most Wanted fame into some 25 local markets for broadcast interviews to promote parental involvement in kids’ use of the Internet.

And with June being “Internet Safety Month,” Cox is launching its “Safe Is Beautiful” advertising campaign (www.safeisbeautiful.com) to promote its full array of security-suite products, including parental controls.
