Cox Communications Inc. said Wednesday that it will use Brightmail Inc.’s spam-filtering tools for its high-speed-data subscribers.

Brightmail said its "Anti-Spam" currently protects more than 300 million mailboxes worldwide.

"Last year, Cox High Speed Internet was the only broadband Internet service in the country to receive an 'A+' grade by the readers of PC Magazine in their annual survey," Cox High Speed Internet marketing vice president Steve Gorman said in a prepared statement.

"With the addition of Brightmail's effective and accurate spam-filtering software, we look forward to remaining far ahead of the Internet-service-provider pack," he added.
