Cox Is ‘Fun’ for the Whole ‘Family’

Cox Communications Inc. will hold “Cox Family Fun Night” Sunday, June 5, the MSO said Wednesday.

Cox systems nationwide will offer commercial-free content from the programming libraries of Noggin, Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite that is appropriate for all ages on its local-origination channels.

The operator said Cox Family Fun Night represents the first time an MSO has partnered with a programmer to deliver an evening's worth of commercial-free content for subscribers.

Cox Family Fun Night will kick off at 7 p.m. (local times) with a half-hour of Noggin preschool series, including OOBI and 64 Zoo Lane. At 7:30 p.m., Nickelodeon movie The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius will air. Back-to-back episodes of Fatherhood, Nick at Nite’s series from Bill Cosby, will follow at 9 p.m.

“In earlier days of television, families would eagerly gather around the TV set with a bowl of fresh popcorn to enjoy quality programs that entertained both kids and parents alike," Cox CEO Jim Robbins said in a prepared statement.

"With Cox Family Fun Night, we recapture that special feeling with a night of family-focused programming, delivered commercial-free, as thanks to our customers,” he added. “Cox Family Fun Night demonstrates the power of Cox's network and our deep commitment to the communities we serve."
