Cox Gets a Dell Deal, Dude!

Cox Communications Inc. is bulking up its network-storage capacity through a
deal with Dell Computer Corp.

The MSO has expanded its relationship with the computer-equipment supplier,
installing eight 'EMC' storage-area networks at its data centers.

The storage-area networks provide Cox with 20 terabytes of additional
capacity, allowing it to run internal server applications, as well as file
storage.

'Uptime is absolutely critical for us, making our partnership with Dell very
important,' said Tom Guthrie, Cox's vice president of operations. 'The Dell EMC
SANs are reliable, and they provide the clustering and partitioning capabilities
we need in our remote data centers.'
