Cox Hires AT&T's Kraft As Business Marketing VP

Cox Communications has hired Ken Kraft, formerly head of channel marketing for AT&T's mid-markets division, as vice president of marketing for the MSO's business division.

In the newly established role, Kraft is responsible for the overall creation and implementation of marketing strategies for Cox Business. He reports to Cox senior vice president and chief marketing and sales officer Mark Greatrex, serving as a member of the Cox Business leadership team under senior vice president Phil Meeks.

Kraft, a 24-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, most recently served as executive director of channel marketing for the mid-markets business division at AT&T. He came to AT&T with the telco's acquisition of BellSouth, where he held several senior roles in the company's business marketing, data product marketing and IP product management organizations. Kraft began his telecom career at Sprint, where he held a variety of marketing and sales roles.

"Ken has tremendous industry expertise with a proven track record of delivering business-to-business marketing initiatives across the telecom sector," Meeks said. "His expertise will be particularly vital as we segment business customers to more effectively penetrate key industries and grow our share."

Added Greatrex, "We are building a world-class marketing organization to help further accelerate Cox Business growth rates. Ken is a valuable addition to our team and we expect that his thought leadership in marketing to a range of business segments will step change our capability."

Kraft holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina. He served as a founding board member of Hands on Atlanta's "Project Springboard," is a member of Fernbank Museum's Corporate Leadership Council and has held fundraising leadership roles in support of the Woodruff Arts Center.
