Cox Offers McAfee Firewall

Following on the heels of fellow MSO Comcast Corp., Cox Communications Inc.
cut a deal with Network Associates Inc. this week to add McAfee online-security
software to its high-speed cable-modem service.

Cox will begin selling McAfee online-security systems including "VirusScan
Online" "Personal Firewall Plus," "SpamKiller" and "Privacy Service" as an
option starting sometime in the second quarter.

Customers who buy into the McAfee products will also receive the "McAfee
Security Center," a set of tools and alerts designed to detect and warn of
hacker attacks.

The products will be offered either on a monthly payment basis or a yearly
renewal option.

"We are very excited to add McAfee's industry-leading online-security
solutions as additional options to our high-speed Internet service," Cox
executive director of marketing for residential Internet services Steve Gorman
said.

"We are always looking for ways to improve our customers' experience with our
high-speed Internet service," he added. "With McAfee's powerful tools, we help
our customers to enhance their safety online."
