Cox Promotes Cossey in Supply Chain Integration

Cox Communications said William B. Cossey Jr. was promoted to executive director of supply chain integration.

Cossey will oversee the enterprise logistics and supply chain operations group, which includes inventory and asset management, demand planning and forecasting and all reverse logistics and fulfillment operations.

Cox said that as director of supply chain ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning)and logistics, Cossey has been instrumental in developing and successfully implementing the Video CPE Third Party (3PL) logistics model at Cox. This approach has enabled the supply chain organization to aggregate demand across all Cox systems, provide accurate forecasts to its suppliers and create unique purchasing leverage through consolidated order management and centralized safety stock.

Under his leadership the operations and logistics team have developed significant new capabilities in support of centralized inventory, transportation management, reverse logistics and CPE repair.

"William brings a unique set of skills to our team and that has helped drive improved inventory performance, expense management and process optimization," George Richter, vice president of supply chain at Cox Communications, said in a statement. "The combination of William's financial background and Cox field experience provides the necessary linkage of our operational plans with a continued bottom line focus as we continue to drive new ways to create value for the company."

Cossey joined the Cox family in 1997 as an assistant senior auditor for Cox Enterprises. He moved to Cox Communications in 2000 as business manager for the Cox Gulf Coast system and later served as director of business operations for the Middle Georgia system.

Prior to joining Cox, Cossey served as a staff accountant with PriceWaterhouse LLP (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers).
