Cox Ramps Up to 9 Mbps

Cox Communications Inc. has boosted its high-speed-data rates in selected markets to 9 megabits per second downstream and 1 mbps upstream.

The MSO said “Premier” subscribers in Cleveland; Kansas; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla.; and Orange County and San Diego, Calif., will receive the 80% boost in speed at no additional cost.

Cox hiked data speeds in its Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Rhode Island and Virginia markets earlier this year.

The operator’s Premier package is available to bundled customers for $54.95 per month.
